How many sessions to budget for

Six to eight is the honest answer, and I would rather you knew that before you start than discovered it at session three.

Typical course of hypnotherapy for pain
StageSessionsWhat happensCost
Foundation1–3 Map the pain, establish trance, first analgesia work, first recording $750
Consolidation4–8 Deepen the work, guarding release, parts work, future rehearsal $1,250
Maintenanceas needed Monthly, then quarterly, then annually. Many people stop entirely $250 each

A full eight-session course is roughly $2,000. You pay per session, you are never locked into a package, and you can stop at any point.

What you get between sessions

Your personalised recording, refreshed as the work develops. This is not an add-on — the research is unambiguous that between-session practice is where most of the benefit accumulates.

How payment works

Once you have sent a request I reply with a secure Calendly link. You pay for the session and choose your time in the same step — nothing is charged before then. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and I can issue a superbill for out-of-network claims, though coverage for hypnotherapy is not guaranteed.

If cost is the barrier

Say so in your request. I keep a small number of reduced-fee slots and I would rather have that conversation than have you not ask.

No outcome is guaranteed. Hypnotherapy is complementary care that supports but does not replace medical treatment. Results vary between individuals, and a minority of people get little benefit. Fees are for professional time, not for a specified result.
Questions

Money and logistics

Why do you not take insurance?

Insurance rarely covers hypnotherapy, and billing it would mean a diagnosis code in your permanent record, session limits set by someone who has never met you, and treatment decisions shaped by a claims process. Private pay keeps the work between us. I will provide a superbill if you want to try for out-of-network reimbursement.

When exactly am I charged?

Not on the request form — it takes no payment details at all. After I have read your request and replied, you get a Calendly link that handles payment and scheduling for that session together. You pay one session at a time, so you are never holding a package you cannot use.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card?

Many clients do, and hypnotherapy for a medical condition is often an eligible expense — but plans differ, so check with your administrator. A letter of medical necessity from your physician strengthens the case considerably.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give 24 hours' notice to reschedule without charge. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. Genuine emergencies are handled like adults.

Do I have to commit to a package up front?

No. You book one session at a time. I recommend planning for six to eight because that is what the research supports, but you are never locked in and you can stop whenever you like.

What if it does not work for me?

Then I will tell you. If we get to session four with nothing moving, I would rather have a straight conversation about that — including what else might be worth trying — than keep taking your money. I do not offer refunds on sessions already delivered, and I do not guarantee outcomes; nobody honest in this field does.
